While it is lovely to see the UK basking in high temperatures it can mean, depending on the environment in which you work, that you are feeling uncomfortable in the heat. As they say, life goes on, and so does our need to go to and get to work. However, as we know, not only can the wrong kind of rain or leaves on the track effect our commute, so too can the sun. Generally hot weather shouldn't affect journeys to work, but occasionally in the UK there might be an impact on public transport if temperatures go over a certain level. Train companies may limit the speed of trains in case the tracks buckle which may result in the late arrival of your train so you should check with your local train company to see if speed restrictions are in place or cancellations are expected and plan accordingly.
On the A4People Resources page we take a look at some of the other issues hot weather may pose including working in hot temperatures, keeping cool while at work, fasting during hot weather, vulnerable workers and of course dress code in the work place during hot weather. How are you coping with the hot weather? Have you had any unusual request for a change in work pattern?
