Here we are at Myth 8 - why do I relate more to some people than others! Now here's another interesting one... It shouldn’t be taken as an absolute, but it can help explain some of the frustrations we may have when working with others, particularly if we don’t appreciate why these differences occur. We may find ourselves working with lots of different personality types. The key is to realise that they may do things differently as it is what feels right for them, even if it seems uncomfortable to you!
Yes, working with someone who is similar to you in type can feel easier and you might lean towards that, but having a diverse mix of personality types working on a problem can be really helpful. If everyone is the same type, then you are more likely to look at the problem in a similar way and may miss out on a potential solution. Remember there is no better or worse MBTI type to be and everyone can bring something to a role. If you’d like to know more, read Tamsin's blog where she takes a look at a classic example of when a frustration can occur. https://lnkd.in/d4w5kuA Read more about the MBTI or contact us to discuss further.
